The process of upgrading from a free version is a bit different depending on where you’ve purchased the theme.
Purchased on Creative Market
Once you complete the purchase, you’ll be given a link to a zip archive that contains the theme along with some additional files.
Instead, download it to your computer and unzip it. Inside you will find a file called maker-X.X.X.zip. That is the file with the theme you want to install.
X.X.X stands for the current version of the theme. It may be 1.0.0 or 2.5.3, or something similar.Once you have this file on your computer, delete the free version of the theme and follow the steps in this article to install the “pro” version using maker-X.X.X.zip file.
When done, request a license key to activate the theme. A quick note here, license key is not a requirement, if you choose not to request it, you’ll just have to install updates manually.

Maker X.X.X — A link to an installable theme archive called maker-X.X.X.zip. This the file with the theme you want to install. Download it to your computer.
Additional Files — An archive with additional files called maker-package-X.X.X.zip. It contains a theme archive, a starter child theme, and the demo data.
maker-package-X.X.X.zip! This will result in an error: The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.Once you have downloaded the file with the theme to your computer, delete the free version of the theme and follow the steps in this article to install the “pro” version using maker-X.X.X.zip file.
When done, activate the theme using your license key.
